With a flight out of Salt Lake at 3:30, I was determined to make the most of the time available, so I was in the line for the first lift about ten minutes before the scheduled opening. The lifts opened exactly at 9 and six minutes later I was at the top of the Crest Express.

Before a short break, I took 4 runs from the Crest Express:

• A cruise down a series of immaculately groomed inetrmediate trails
• A more challenging run down a series of runs that were not groomed overnight
• Another cruise down groomed trails
• A much more challenging run down Wren ?? which was posted as an intermediate run but in these conditions was rather more difficult. A temporary sign near the top warned "Unmarked obstacles .. expert skiers only." The first couple of turns were fine and then the trouble started! The easiest part of the trail was unpassable because of rocks and the only way down was to divert through the trees.
